Clubs on Show

2011

In 2011 the funds from the Show were used to support:

 sids

Red Nose (formerly Sids and Kids) is a national charity working to save little lives and support families impacted by the death of a baby or child.

We rely on the generosity of the community through Red Nose Day and other fundraising events, and our partnerships with small businesses and corporations.

Funds from the AFD were used to upgrade a charity vehicle.  The SIDS organisation used their old vehicle as a trade-in and AFD representative were able to negotiate a good deal on a new Ford Focus from McInerney Ford.
 heartkids

HeartKids is the only national not-for-profit organisation solely focused on supporting and advocating for all people impacted by childhood heart disease, one of the largest causes of infant death in Australia.

A covered trailer was purchased for Heart Kids WA and was fitted with a BBQ and workbench.  This trailer will be used at the many Heartkids Fund Raising activities.

West Australians (WA) in rural and pastoral areas rely heavily on Bush Fire Brigades (BFB) for protection against the threat and devastation of fire.

Over 19.500 bush fire service volunteers protect WA from bushfires through fire prevention and risk management, fire suppression and fire safety education.

These volunteers operate through 566 BFB’s, which are administered and trained by respective Local Governments and supported by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES).

BFB volunteer firefighters are trained to operate equipment, vehicles and appliances used in fire suppression operations.

The AFD team were proud to be able to kit out 3 new Volunteers with all the personal safety gear needed to fulfill their duties.
